How do I become a Volunteer for Wearsidefirst
What we ask for:
- A few hours of your time per week
- Commitment to making Wearsidefirst successful
What we offer:
- Full Induction and Training
- Full support
- Additional training to assist with the development of skills (Assisting people back into employment)
The Process: We ask that all volunteers read through the volunteer pack (available from Head Office) and complete the following forms: Application Form; Equal Opportunity Form; Declaration of Confidentiality and Volunteer Agreement. These should then be returned to our Head Office marked for the attention of Ruth Blair.
You will then be invited to an informal interview to discuss all volunteering and training opportunities available.
You will be requested to attend an Induction and Training Course, which will possibly be followed by work experience at a current Collection Point. This will allow you to cover what was covered in the training session.
Once you are completely comfortable with the training you will be allocated a Collection Point to work with another volunteer a few hours per week.
Skills: No experience necessary as full training is provided.
Skills gained through Wearsidefirst volunteering include:
- People Skills
- Communication Skills
- Administration Skills
- Sales and Marketing Skills (Optional)
If you have any questions about the volunteering opportunities available then please contact Ruth Blair on 0191 514 7491
